    Hello,

I am developing a new WordPress based eCommerce platform and want to ask you for advice. What gateways should we offer in our system? The point is that we can take only 3 now. What options will be better? Paypal, 2checkout, Payza?

I would offer Stripe for sure and Paypal; not sure what the third should be, perhaps Authorize.net.

Paypal is the best payment processor you could work with but sometimes it isn't good for sellers considering the chargeback policy and there attitude towards the sellers. I would suggest you to use 2 Checkout along with Paypal as secondary payment option so if any buyer who isn't confortable with 2CO.

I have done few WP E-Commerce projects with Paypal & Authorize.net payment gateways .
They are not only easy to integrate , but also easy to manage & upgrade.
Also you have huge community to help with issues if there is any.
Also the Paypal & Authorize.net downtime is really negligible & highly reliable.
This is just out of my own experience & not opposed to use any other payment processors.

Authorize.net is a huge one, and the first I would do for US gateways. Plug n play, network merchants (virtually identical to authnet integration-wise), Eprocessing network.

Just these could cover a large portion of US merchants.

I agree with others - you must add paypal, Authorize.net and something like 2checkout and stripe.

Definitely have the basics like PayPal available in your store. It's the go-to payment option for many, and is widely used by people all over the world because of its easy and secure payment modes.

I was Googling on this (just for kicks) and found an article talking about how their shopping cart abandonment rate rose a little upon installing PayPal - well, but that's just specific to that particular retailer's experience. Here's the article link. But anyway, there are other more "indie" options to PayPal that can be installed (still recommend having Paypal as a basic) like Moneybookers or Google Checkout if you want to explore alternative options!
