    I use craigslist to drive a lot of traffic to my job site at www.teachwny.com. Seems to work well, but I occasionally get flagged as inappropriate because I'm offering more of a service than a job.

    Yes.....BUT the traffic brought by Stumbleupon is it really good traffic?.. because for my sites this is the worst possible traffic.

    Don't look at it as a source of traffic, but... if you get a particular page big on any of these sites, you will get tons of free backlinks from webmasters who like your content ;)

    To get a ton of traffic for a short period of time, you can't go wrong with digg. With that being said, if you are looking for more "prolonged" traffic, ensure your site is constantly updated, has lots of content.
    From there look at submitting to facebook, stumbleupon, yahoo buzz.
