i was wondering if i used my fantistico installer in cpanel and installed phpbb or smf, are you able to switch all users, posts, threads, etc to VBULLETIN or IPB???
Both can be easily transfer to vbulletin. For to IPB, I think, you need to order invisionpower for converting cost $60.
Yes, you can do this. Vbulletin provides a script called IMPEX. Here is a link to the offical IMPEX support forum over at vbulletin.com - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=92 The script will import just about everything (except passwords) to vbulletin. Back in January of this year (2009) I used the impex system to convert an SMF forum to VBulletin. Everything went pretty good and I was happy with the results.
A little off topic, but I am curious to know the decision you made to switch to VB. I just started with a SMF to save a little money, but I hope I am not asking for a bigger headache down the road.
