What forum would you sign up to?

Hey guys, i am wondering what would make you sign up to a forum, and what forums you would be interested in signing up to.

By this i mean the niche the forum is in, for example digital points being webmasters/seo and you would join up here because its very active.

Would you sign up to a particular niche forum because it gives out free e books, or something else?

Or does it not matter if they give you anything free, as long as it is active.

Would love to have some feedback on this.

    Will.

I would be looking at the total number of members and how active they are. You can to look at various threads and see how many posts are made and how old they are. I won't join a forum unless it's active and can be both beneficially to me personally as well as to my business. Also I want to be able to join in the discussion when I can because I enjoy forums and forum marketing.

If I find a good informative forum with mods that answer questions and participate in discussions, those are the forums that not only I can benefit from but I can also contribute to.

I agree, but I always check the thread titles and read a few too to see if I'd be interested long term.

I like easy to use and navigate forums.
One with lots of traffic but not to many traffic cops.
One that would provide a voice to text
    Option would rock.

The forum must be active, with good control on spams but no with strict rules. :)

I would do a search for any forums that target a particular niche that I am trying to provide services or content for.

I would sign up to active forums. I would sign up to a fairly new forum if there were already interesting threads.

Activity is a nice, but with new forums I'd prepared to give the benefit of the doubt as to activity. Activity doesn't come instantly.

More importantly for me is the tone of the forum. Some forums are just for flaming, some are genuinely interested in helping others and yet more are just a blatant attempt to build something up with the sole purpose of selling it.
