Hi everyone! Forgive me if this is too newbie-

I want to add a forum to a new site being created for real estate investors.

it will be a paid membership site with diff. levels of membership fees (from free to ...)

    so...

was wondering which forum is best to use and one that is real userfriendly....

    ...any suggestions appreciated.:)

vbulletin.com is the best IMO. Many mods available to enhance its features too. I think they will be raising prices soon, so if you decide to go with vbulletin do it quickly. :)

No question about it...you should definitely go with VBulletin. It has full support for paid memberships and is very user friendly for both your users and the backend of things.

VBulletin can be a little daunting to install if you're not tech-savvy, but as long as you follow the manual's instructions you should be fine. Expect the installation to take up 1-2 hours of your time if you're not used to working with SQL databases.

vbulletin has a file you can download to your server to make sure vbulletin will work on your server environment. Look for this file before purchasing. Good luck with your new forum. :)

I have to say a highley disagree with most people on this thread.

SMF, is by far the best software out there, best of all its free!

It has so many mod's aswell....like arcades, shops, etc etc... and yes there all free.

It dose require a bit of tech knowlage though when something goes wrong.

But if you know your stuff, SMF is the best there is.
