What forum software is the best?

What I really want to do is have a map, have people be able to pin where they live on the map, and be able to edit fields in profiles, and add new subjects into it.

Anyone have any suggestions, or would this be too complicated?

    thanks,
    mike

I do not know that any of popular forums offers such feature. But, as handeyman says, you can use frappr.

Or, if programming is an option, you can sign up for a Google maps API key and try to implement such a feature into software you are using now.

phpbb is the best if you make a backup every day.
    I lost my database once.
Believe me, I was very sad when that happened. :)

I prefer vBulletin although I have never used a map mod though. I think I saw one somewhere integrated in to vB.
