Prescription drugs found in drinking water across U.S. That's crazy... I knew there was some crazy stuff in tap water, but sex hormones?
Geez, I just read about that too. And who knows what could build up in our bodies. Some things can basically get stuck in your fat cells.
In a word; yes. These are just the pharmaceutical drugs. There are also chemicals from manufacturing, farming, homes, that end up in the water supply.
41millions?!?!?! :| Damn if it was a small thing i would understand that mistakes happen...but in 41millions? That's like some serious stuff.
The important thing here isn't the amount of people effected it's the effect that the substances have. And considering that the amounts of the drugs are infinitesimally small you have nothing to worry about and it's a non-issue. "the head of a group representing major California suppliers said the public "doesn't know how to interpret the information" and might be unduly alarmed" - I guess he was right. Id love to see the reaction when they tell you how many gallons of urine you consume every year through tap water.
