    Hi guys,
I'm just curious as to what features you would most like to see introduced in a social network?

It would seem that most social networks (myspace, bebo, facebook) have the following default features
    • ability to add your friends from hotmail/gmail/yahoo
    • write on your own blog
    • upload photos to your gallery
    • tag photos (flickr style)
    • leave comments on friend's profiles
    • share videos with one another
    • view activity feeds of your friends
    • change and display your status messages

But what would you like to see on a social network? What features?

I'm going to have to go with pretty much everything facebook has... Functionality...All my real life friends are on it and have history on it...one advertisement that is easily ignored...Better Networking tools than any webmaster can provide because all the members are making them already...Ran with ajax, making it super fast...and most of all, loyal to functionality.

Many people have complained about applications, but in reality, the advertising ones aren't used that much and peter out over time. Functionality reigns at facebook. No one can truly spam. Theirs only opt in spam, which you have to actually try to find. :)

Facebook will not go down in our generation. Too much functionality and just as important, people don't up and leave a network where all there friends are at. Making a new social network is pretty much a dead end.

Facebook adds about 100,000 users per day according to developers.facebook.com video. At that rate no one will be able to catch up, because Facebook will take all ur users eventually.

Facebook is like the coca-cola of soda pop. It will always be a top dawg....Myspace is more like sams choice cola, except sams choice cola's future is pretty secure.

from my experience with DP, revenue sharing is worthless. Good marketing tool though.

Ya know, I think the key is to market it to a specific group of people. Lessthanfour.com is popular because it targets amputees. Find something your interested in, and offer features that aren't on every of the other 1 million social networks out there.
