What exactly is meant about a misspelled domain?

Are both of the following situations considered misspelled domains?:

    1. For example registering Ebey.com to get misspelled direct traffic for people wanting to go to Ebay.com

2.Registering a domain simply because it is a misspelling of word that lends itself to misspellings. For example: registering ExtreemWidgets.com which is a misspelling of ExtremeWidgets.com

Both of those are correct and then you have to add on the typo domain where the key letter is next to above or below the one someone might type.

I tried to type in godaddy.com today and I still don't know where I went. :)
