I've done tons of optimization for this site. It's made with joomla, pulling in 10-15,000 uniques a day, and is listed pretty well. I'm trying to list for paranormal news. about 8 days ago, it ranked 121, the next day, 91, then 85, now back to 91..and it hasn't moved in 5 days! I've got tons of incoming links to my articles from other well known sites. Do i need to cut down on the usage of "paranormal news" on the front page? How can I tell if I'm being penalized by google for duplicate content? Google loves the site, and indexes it within 8 or 9 hours of an update...is anything super obvious that I've left out? http://www.theparanormalreport.com
You seem to be getting a ton of traffic. Where is your traffic coming from? It's surely not coming from Google since it ranks near the 100 mark. How new is the site? If the site is new you just may have to wait awhile for Google to give you the proper respect.
I ve made many sites in Joomla and i can confirm Google love this CMS ....i suggest you to add more back links to your site...if you want to rank higher in the SE
The site's been live since jun 29. Most traffic is coming from bigger sites that link to our articles. We're getting 150-200 hits from Google results a day though, no problem. Just trying to rank for the big term in the field. Thanks for the replies so far. If someone has a "good" answer, I've got no problem giving them a link from our site.
If your sites only been online since June 29 it's just going to take time. It sounds like everything is going right, you will just need to keep doing what your are and have patience.

your site is new so give it time....continue building links though...get some deep links to pages in your site
