Lets not count the obvious, Add Site to Google Submit site map etc. Social network posting and creation of social pages on FB Twitter etc. Adwords or similar paid advertising What else can a webmaster do to help launch the website off the ground and make it visible and popular rapidly? Thanks for any suggestions
I would highly suggest you to get ready with at least 10 blog post developed before launching your website! Content is the heart of your website don't miss it out!
Short of having a viral/news worthy site, I'm sorry to tell you "rapidly" is not likely going to happen. You're looking for a shortcut to success, and there isn't one. It takes time to build a successful long term online presence/business, doesn't happen over night. SEO is the best choice for sustainable traffic in the future.
In addition to what others have mentioned above, do what you're doing now by posting in various forums of topic to your niche and adding a signature to your post. However don't do it to solely advertise/spam but instead do it to contribute your expertise.
launching a website off the ground just like others will not happen rapidly like by magic just because you are a webmaster. just follow the obvious route of promotion and be patient friend. You shall get there. Thanks
As I have said in my years of building/creating websites: a website is like a child, you create it, nurture it & watch it grow! Meaning, that you must grow them up and develop them at a good pace and using the best abilities that you have and acquire. You can't just create a site and expect it to be a top site right away. That's like having a child and expecting it to be able to fend for itself right after birth. A website, like a child, must be grown and developed into maturity. another thing that has a lot to do with the success and continued success of a website is your willingness to put the time and effort in to achieve sustained results. As the case is with any website, you can't just create it and expect it to be a top site right away and stay there if you don't either take care of it yourself, or have someone capable taking care of it for you. Good Luck.
If you're already doing the things you've listed up there you've got a lot of work cut out for you as it is. Why do you need something else? What's you site by the way? Maybe you're trying to spin out something that has no future.
I've discovered my greatest asset is the fact that my website is a blog. Fresh content, and the RSS feed is what helps me get more organic traffic.
Offline marketing! You have virtually no competition. People are so used to getting spammed with emails promoting websites. But how often are you spammed in person by people promoting their website? Rarely ever. What if you put flyers at your local sporting events in the parking lot on everyones car? What if you targeted leads directly in person, or hired a marketing rep to do this for you? Think outside the box!
Offline marketting works only in a few fields. In my previous two engagements, one for a magazine and one for an Online Services Company, it worked only for the former, but failed with the latter.
