Hi, I've had www.findinlondon.com for some time now, but I can't quite figure out what to do with it. First I put a forum on it, but I didn't have the time to fill it with useful posts so that died, recently I've filled it with news feeds just do it looks like theres something going on with it, but still not much is happening with it. It's a great domain, and what with the Olympics coming up in london, I would of thought findinlondon.com would become very valuable property. So any suggestions??
Olympics coming in London... in 2012? Maybe you could think of something else to do for the next four years
Stronger colors with photos, photos, and video. The internet is no longer about "reading" a site. People want to have an "experience'. Get yourself a ticket for a ride on that ferris wheel, bring a still and video camera and show the world what you see.
sounds like a domain that could work well for letting ppl know about events etc going on in london when Olympics arrive have it all about that.
post in jobs infos, chatrooms etc. that should work.. or hire an encoder.. i can help you with that.! just PM me
Sewlwyn, If you can't put time and effort into a website then i'm afraid your website won't be very successful. If any of the guys here had an answer where you throw up a site and the people will come and it will take off with minimal time being put into it.. then that guy/girl should write a book. Good luck with the site EDIT - Selwyn's post has been deleted in case anyone is wondering who RonRipple is talking to. ~mcfox
At first sight, home page has no pictures in its 'body', people are very interested in seeing pictures, otherwise they may concider much text too much of a trouble to read it. Put some London pics in between RSSs to give visitors more flavor of London when they visit the site.
Hi, Visited your website and here are my inputs: - Make your homepage attractive with good colors and pictures. - There are alignment issues in the home page to be corrected. The right column is going outside the body background. - You can have a newsletter sign up box and send the members attractive newsletters on the various events and happenings.
thanks for all the info so far, although like I said I don't have much time to be continiously updating the site, so I really need an idea that I can spend a bit of time on (to setup) and then let run by itself, which is why I liked the classifieds approach. I looked at the options for this and it seems there are 2 options, Noah ad's and a plug in for Joomla called AdsManager, not sure which is the best way to go.
