I really fail when it comes to promote the website... This is what I did the last 2 days to promote my website, -Add it to some directories like Dmoz -Add it to Search engines like google and yahoo -Spam the website on 5-6 forums (I dont really like this method tbh) -Post the link to 3-4 yahoo answers (relative questions to my content) -Sent emails to 4-5 guys who own websites similar to mine asking for a link exchange (no answers so far) It s really boring to promote a website for me... after 2 days working on it I dont think I made more than 30-40 backlinks! Am I doing anything wrong or this is supposed to be damn slow and boring? What else can I do to promote it? (I dont really wanna spend money to promote the website) Thanks for helping!
Well A website promotion is not easy task to do as you wish you must do some hard work for it if you don't want to spend money behind the promotion then there is no any other ways. No anyone can complete his promotion within 2 days.
You could always try something CRAZY, like THIS .. You get the idea - something original, that people will talk about..
Nice Tearabite, as for permanent web presence it takes Hard work. Sounds to me like you're already giving up. My girlfriend and I have spent over a year optimizing and linkbuilding and we're Finally seeing results in the search engines. But we are also in the dating industry, which is one of the most ruthless and competitive markets out there. So it depends on what your site is about. If you have a lot of competitors you need to start link-building right away...when I say link-building I mean anywhere you can post a link to your site Do It. Link popularity is nothing but a 'Popularity contest' the more links, or votes, you have pointed back to your site, the better. Also keep in mind that you cannot be a savage beast and only optimize a few targeted keywords, Everyday, change them up, do your research, open a google webmasters account and use the keyword tool(located in Adwords) and see which keyword or keyword phrases are worth going after. The best sites to join are anything related to your site. Also do Not waste your time with free classifieds, 9 times out of ten your link will get deleted after a certain period of time. I hope this will keep you busy and good luck to you.
Some advice: patience is one of the main qualities you'll need to succeed in all this. Why? Because you can't rush the search engines! Since site age is a significant part of the authority you're trying to get in their eyes, this will take a while, especially if you are in a competitive area. Don't think you can just blast your site with thousands of links right off the bat as a way to accelerate this process either. More links are necessary, but doing it too quickly could get you penalized, and that would negate the work you've done so far. Here's an idea: make a few other sites, not BS sites but sites on topics about which you are interested (and preferably passionate). Spread your efforts out over all your sites and then work very hard on being patient too! Success will happen, and though it will take longer than you would like, when things do start moving it will be several sites that are simultaneously starting to rank and earn. That is worth the effort(!). Also, in my experience usually sites 'work' better (or worse) than I thought they would, so you don't want to put all your efforts into one or two, unless the niche shows real promise and your site(s) are a labor of love for you also. Hopes this helps. Oh yeah, you could get a review on an aged, high PR website review site. IMO it is a lot better than buying a link in (most) directories, but then I am biased...
I would tend to say that some people just faceroll their keyboards and make sure their sentences include a couple of words like seo and backlinks and come up with abstract and useless stuff like this just to increase their post count. 5-6 years ago I made a warez site, and in 1 week time I went from 0 unique visitors to 100k daily, not because I did something "crazy" like that quote above me suggest and most of it did not even come from search engines. The truth is that you need to be familiar with what youre doing and know very specific things where you could get traffic from. Recently I've decided to start making websites again (to make profit with adsense) and lemme tell you, i dont have a single clue what I should make my website about nor would I know where to get massive traffic, because it is yet again, those very specific things that actually get you traffic.
people who say patience is key basically just encourage you to waste as much time as possible, ignore those comments.
haha good one. Instead of just waiting and wasting you can try some handy tips & tricks to get traffic quickly to your website.
