What else can I do? Must I be patient?

I have an article directory site that is almost 2 months old. It's going pretty good. I get about 50 uniques a day. I guess what I'm wondering is what else can I do to optimize the site? You can check it out by clicking the link in my profile.

Will traffic come and will my page rise higher and higher for keywords over time? I'm really hoping to get up there for 'article directory' and 'free web content'. I'm really working on developing relevant backlinks that contain those keywords. What else can I do? Or will time tell?

I guess I just don't know what to do at this point in time. Any encouragement or help would be nice. :)

Great looking website. Nice work

You have a decent amount of backlinks, but none from .edu or .gov domains LINK

Perhaps your local community college would link back to you in exchange for publishing a couple of articles from their students or something.

Looking quickly, your pages seem to be well optimized and SEO friendly, and it appears that even your deepest pages are cached in Google.

From here it looks like it's just a matter of being patient for a while longer. I've seen far worse sites position well in the SEs.

Thanks for the post and comments! I will keep my eyes peeled for any .edu or .gov domains that may be interested in listing me as a resource. I had never thought of that before.

I will continue to be patient. :)

Yeah, the site looks good it'll just take some time.

With the fresh content you're getting the search engines should respond nicely.

Google's already cached your site so it's only a matter of time. Keep doing what you're doing and it should take soon. Also follow CJan's advice if possible and get links to top quality .edu or .gov. Try colleges and universities, they often have places where you can place links, like other forums. Keep your eyes open and be creative about it (but don't spam!).

I've submitted an article to see how it does. Signing up was a cinch, I appreciate that.

    Good luck!

What i would suggest is choose an article from your database and submit it to Digg.

Thanks for the reviews! If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve the site, I gladly accept.

I'm really shooting for quality, so I'm hoping this hard work and patience will pay off. :)

I have had a successful article go front page on shoutwire, but right now I'd rather focus on organic traffic. Shoutwire and Digg are cool for short term stuff, but I definitely want to focus on long term too.
