Hi, speaking generally. What site would make money money? A site that is dedicated to promoting affiliates (ie. clickbank and Amazon) or a site optimized to earn its maximum potential though Adsence?

Affiliates definitely earn you more than what you can get from Adsense. Also, its not just Amazon and Clickbank, you can sign up with so many other affiliates, including CJ and earn $$$ from your site.

Affiliates earn good money, but I say it is about even.

Affiliates only "see" money when they receive a check and sometimes people make charge backs, get refunds, or whatever.

With Adsense, at least you know how much you will get paid all the way.

I prefer the sanity of knowing instead of making a lot of sales and then losing out on commission because of someone's refund or charge back.

    Case in point, click bank!

It all depends really. But I with a few years of adwords practice I'm sure affiliate s would make more easily.

Hmmm. it depends on your site & how you market your products & services. Both Affiliates & Adsense publishers can earn well. :)

It all depends upon what kind of visitors are coming to your site, and for what reason. For example, if you have a website pertaining to Christianity and its history, Adsense would earn you a better conversion ratio than affiliate product ads. Why? Because your visitors are there to learn or research something, rather than buy something.

If you have a website that reviews certain Books or Bibles pertaining to Christianity, then obviously affiliate products ads (like through CJ.com) would be ideal.

Just pretend you're a visitor to your site and it should make sense.

I agree with Poohbear - You have to look at the site with visitors in mind, what is more helpfull to them?

Another option is to run both!

Using affiliates as an extra income source instead of Adsense is a risky thing to do. The affiliate web site market is way too saturated now and with millions of sites dedicated to affiliate programs, it will not make your job any easier. You need to update your content daily and make your web site very unique to make a substantial profit.

While, on the other side with using Adsense you are getting paid per click, if you think of it. Estime how many clicks with Adsense you get for every sign up or sale (Whatever is needed for commission) with your affiliate program. Find out the average amount of time each takes to get (Judge in a period of 2 weeks with steady traffic) and that should give you your answer. Adsense is definately the better way to go for smaller companies, and many larger ones as well (Ie. YouTube lol) but if you are serious about marketting, doing the right things could lead to success in either area.

Really, it is a toss up but you could always choose to use both Adsense and affiliates.

I would explain it in this way. I view adsense as an affiliate program too. Therefore I would not say which is which is better. For me, I will incorporate both of them:D . Yes we need to know what our customer want but why not have the best of both world. Had a mixture of both and serve the huge community.

It depends on where you stay. Many affiliate programs are not available worldwide.

For me, affiliates mostly make me more money, but adsense is good when I can't find a specific affiliate program that fits.
