what e-commerce script is best?

My dad has asked me to build a site for his manufacturing shop, just wondering what script is relatively newbie friendly? My host offers one click installation through fantastico

1.osCommerce
2.cubecart
2. Zen Cart

another option would be joomla and it's e-commerce module

All three are pretty easy to use.

I've had good luck with zen cart, myself.

 

Go for Oscommerce. I myself had tried it and found very simple to install and great look

osCommerce is quite popular. If you get stuck, there are hundreds of coders online either through DP or Rentacoder that could help you customize it to fit your website needs.

 

VirtueMart is a good one, too.

 

go for oscommerce! they got an open source support community.

 

I can highly recommend CubeCart. I have 3 sites using it. Also the support forum is amazing.

One tip tho if you do use it, the Fantastico installation contained a bug or two, so i suggest you get it from the official site.

 

wordpress has an e-commerce plugin.

I like it because 1. I love wordpress 2. it is easier to configure then a large commerce site. Just google "wordpress e-commerce plugin"

for a full e-commerce site, I prefer os-commerce.

 

I would recommend oscommerce. I use it for my hight volumn jewelry ecommerce for about 3 years . Very satisfy..

 

i think zen cart is some what better...No personal experience but one of my frnd used it...

 

I have used OSCommerce, Zen and CudeCart. I think CubeCart is the most stable and easiest to work with. They also have a very good support forum.

I have used both oscommerce and Zen Cart, and I think Zen Cart is easily superior, as I think it has nearly all of the oscommerce features + more. The only reason I would go oscommerce is if it has a specific add on that you need. I can't comment on cube cart
