Hi guys, great topics. I have a question. My consulting biz currently runs on the domain robertrupp.com, but I did have it running at robertruppconsulting.com. Both domains are PR3, couple hundred backlinks. Which domain name is more effective? I realize having the consulting keyword in the domain name is a decent idea, but, what would you do? Thanks guys! Robert Rupp
I don't think that "robert trupp" has many queries on Google? That's why I think both domains have the same importance. I recommend however the shortest one.
What type of consulting are you doing. I don't think it matter b/c you should brand your name more than a consulting
Hi Rob, Personally i would go for the domain name with 'consulting' in it mainly because its your keyword target. Other factors also include how much traffic you are receiving from both domains... you can always redirect the other domain to point to whichever one you decide to go with. I also see a more professional look to the robertruppconsulting.com I hear that putting you main keyword at the front of the domain is more affective too, maybe try this approach? Check it out in G keyword tool
I like the shorter one. It will be easier for people to remember and in a consultation business half of the battle is getting return buyers.
I also like the shorter one. You could always have Robert Trupp Consulting in the titles, headlines and site description.
