What domain format is better

    I'm setting up a Free Blog Host script and was wondering which way would it be better to use the members domains
    USER.DOMAIN.COM
    WWW.DOMAIN.COM/USER

    I have seen it in use both ways,but are there any benefits from a seo point of view from one to the other?

    personlly I think subdomain , but if it's for like a users profile the /user
