What does your avatar mean to you?

(I know there are similar topics, but not quite the same ones).
Well, frankly this is for my research paper (dough)... I need help, your help...

What does your forum avatar mean to you (is kind of the general question)...
1.How often do you change it?
2.How long did it take you to make one? (or did you get one form somewhere?) By making I mean looking for picture, editing, deciding etc...
3.Why did you pick this avatar?
4.In what way do you think you avatar reflects you? (or doesn't at all)...

Fair and square, I'll answer first.

1. Roughly 3 times a year.
2. over an hour.
3. It it is a character for my website,- sort of this is who owns the website. I think it is friendlier this way.
4. I like japanese animation, character is a bit shy from the look of it, which I think I am too, character looks like she is in need of help and is a bit alone, which I can associate with.

1.I don't know, maybe after 2 weeks or 3 weeks.
2.Depends on the design, sometimes it would take seconds or minutes.
3.Depends, because sometimes I liked to put that avatar.
4.For me, it depends on how you define the likes of the person who owns the avatar.

1. Seldom, only if I get a better picture of my dog.
2. About 10 minutes
3. I got this dog from a shelter when he was 9 years old and he loves me.
4. He reminds me that good things are everywhere, we just have to notice.

1. Umm first one.
2. About five minutes .
3. It was easy and I could edit some of my other work.
4. I like web designing and logo/signature making, also, it has my username on it .

1. I almost never change my avatars.
2. It took me two minutes to put this one up.
3. To show who me, the poster, is. It makes me feel more comfortable when I see pictures of the person as their avatar.
4. It does not tell a lot, but it tells you how my face looks like.
