    Actually when I created this nickname in 1996 it came from this character :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalypse_(comics)

    XL was added as a unique symbol (to many Apocalypses running around) it came from my clothing size and latter from my ...... size .

    But since about 2004 the significance became your No.1 explanation . So you are correct .
