I have just looked at the source code of a blogspot blog and did a search for the nofollow tag. It was not shown directly next to any links, but did have a long line of code at the bottom of thr source code which contained the term nofollow. It was a long line of code so have only copied the start and the end part which contains nofollow. _WidgetManager._SetSystemMarkup({'layout': {'varName': '', 'template' 75\47NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW\47 name\75\47robots\47/\76\n\74/b:if\076'}}); Can anyone tell me what this means? Does it make all links nofollow? Thanks in advance
Yes it makes all the links on the page nofollow. Actually people try to spam and get backlinks from such site, so the webmasters make all the links on the page as nofollow.
Can this be changed by asking the site owner to add the dofollow tag to one specific link? I am basically considering advertising on a site, but want to make sure it is actually going to have a SEO benefit for my site.
yes you can ask but i don't think so that he/she will allow it. what type of advertisement are you planning to be posted on the site?
Looking to have a small paragraph of text with a link in the sidebar. I have noticed this code is on other blogspot blogs - does that mean all links in the blogroll, etc are going to be nofollow? I thought it was just visitor generated links, such as comments that were automatically nofollow?
