When you search anything for Example Web hosting on google, you will see Date specified with result, does anyone what this means?
In this particular case, as you can easily guess that the search result is a Blog Post so date shown is the date when the page was last modified/ or posting is done.
I think it's either date of post or date when Google indexed that page. It is important if the searcher is looking for news, seeing that date means it might be the latest or the particular news on that date..

Basically it means the date when your article was indexed by Google when its crawler came along to visit your site.
