What does this mean ? This google says when I search site command for my site Look : here In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 7 already displayed. If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included. Does it means that other pages are in supplemental index or they are too similar to shown one ?
Every page needs to have a separate titles, descp and some times meta tags. Once you have completed this they will be listed as separate crawls. We had issues with triggering Google's Duplicate filter.
If pages are in the supplemental index then the wont show in Google's main results... you'll only see them if you click right at the bottom where it should give you an option to view supplemental results. So, its not good... As swapshop says, Different titles & descriptions for each page are a must.
When I checked, I found this way.. The last 2 are in supplemental results. If you do it with omitted results included, you'll find many other pages which are in normal index. You need to have a unique title for each page in your site to avoid it being not shown in the first result.
The big issue here is and we found it the hard way Googles Duplicate Filter, if you have two many supplementry listing then you take the risk of triggering this filter and google as it did to us will drop you back down to a few indivdual listing. All these listing will have unqiue titles, desc and tags. In our case a new drop down menu system basically screwed us. Our menu system calls index.php?cat=1, index.php?cat=2 Each of these were calling the same header_inc.php hence they all had the same title, description and tags. So we created a table and placed key words against each catergory and called this table for each drop down menu. Long story short for us All pages to have different Titles All pages to have different descriptions All pages to have different keywords Try to make your title reflect the content and the tags as well. Google doesnt use meta tags as much as yahoo. Better to have meta tags than not. Hope this helps as we have just go thru the learning curve with our site.
