If i type in my web directory name "Fesu Web directory" or "Fesu free web directory" my site is like 6 pages back in the results. Is there anything i have to do to increase my SERPS. In the past ive only submitted to 800 directories. But you would think if i type the actual name my site should be first.

It depends on the your meta title, the anchor text you used, how recently you submitted and how many directories accepted your submissions. This is something you need to keep doing on a regular basis.

    My
It could be if you have enough backlinks from relevant and Quality sites. Keywords are also main factors for SERPs.

normally you should rank #1 for your name, especially because there is no competion for your title "Fesu Web directory" and you also have "fesu" in the domain name, infortunately there is a possibility that u are among those who were hit by the recent google penalties.

    A few possible reasons:

    • Your home page's PR is 0. Many others showing in the search results ahead of your site have nice PR.
    • Your domain age is quite young — 167 days.
    • Your inbound link total is fairly small — using the link:domain search, you have 14 in Google, 287 in Yahoo. You'll need to grow those numbers.

Keep at it, surf this forum for relevant tips on creating a top-notch directory, continue securing good inbound links (and not just from directories) the best you can, and you'll see the rewards of your work in due time. Best wishes.

How old is the directory? Have you seen it drop in the serp's? No need to stress if it has been penalised. As long as your pages are still indexed you are OK. Few directories ever draw any significant traffic, you dont need to rank and if you have been penalised see it as a warning and nothing more.

Thanks for the tips.. I still have around 1500 directories to submit to. And also as mentioned above the site has no PR and is still young. After all of these hopefully i should be near the top

Along with the other tips above, having the words in the domain is a big one, probably not practical, and definitely not pretty but if your domain was 'fesufreewebdirectory.com' your site would have a much better chance of getting the number one spot for those key words.

As it is, your up against any other 'free web directory' sites that happen to mention 'fesu' somewhere in their content and you may not do so well.
