I'd like to start a, roundtable if you will, discussion on what the future of Internet opportunities/marketing holds for all of us. What do you all think will be big hits in the future? There is MORE than enough business to go 'round for us all. I think we can discuss this in an open forum, and not worry about jeaopardizing out own income streams.

Here are some of my thoughts.... I think we're going to see a shift AWAY from some of these monster social networks. They are becoming too common place, and are losing their relevance. Intuitive web browsing is something that I think still has not come into its own. Information is so widespread, and incorrect at times, on the web, that it is making it hard to find out info. Personal researchers are something I feel will have a future. These will be people who, for a price, will do the research for you on any subject, compile the info in a palatable way and present it to you.

Well that's a bit to start.. So, come on everybody.. throw your thoughts into this one, and let's see if we can come up with the next "big thing"..... we have PLENTY of extremely intelligent and talented people here, I am very interested to see what some of the thouhts are...

If I could predict future marketing trends consistantly, then a) I would be rich and b) I wouldn't tell you.

You guys are missing the point.... of course we can't predict the future... However people get ahead by spotting trends and taking part in them. I am not asking for anyone to be a fortuneteller... Just thought we could talk about emerging trends.

Although we can't predict exactly what the future would like, we all have our own hopes. Here's what in my thought for a long time. We, currently, are made to receive these marketing things, ADs, on almost all medias, TV, presses, radio, and even internet websites. I, once, thought we have rights to decide what we want to accept, but even when browsing internet, we have to look at pop-up ADs, banners, text-ADs, google's ADs everywhere. Can't we choose what we want to see, or what ADs we choose to see? I thinnk we can, in fact, at present, you can register to get ADs by email and make money. "I have a dream", we can decide what we want to watch, hear, smell, finally!

Well, I am not a professional prognosticator but I see a trend in the 'physical' world causing significant changes in the world of technology. Basically, I see less and less social interaction in the physical world around me. More and more people are telecommuting to work, few parents let their kids out of their sight due to pedophiles and play dates are now set up for prescribed times that kids can play (and usually only in organized activities), business and pleasure travel is way down (especially on the airlines), if terrorism and anthrax-type scares pick up again, people will be even less likely to meet in malls and/or at other social events. So, I predict that technology will be put into use to to bridge the social networking gap that exists now and is only going to get bigger and bigger. Forums and other social networking sites are a 'primitive' attempt to address the serious need that humans have for socializing, but they are not the ultimate solution. Perhaps 3D virtual reality of some sort will come closer, but even that is not necessarily going to be enough. I do not have any proposed solutions, but I will state that if anyone can come up with a technological way to enable socializing without physical contact or even the ability to type quickly on a keyboard, it will be a step in the right direction.
