Two questions: 1) What is the main factor that decides whether a click gets a dollar or a cent? 2) What is the best way to popularize your site among people? (Not for links... but for reliable users.) My website is: http://www.explainstuff.com I usually post around 3-6 posts a week. Started 2 months back. I did a facebook group, posted it to orkut, use digg, delicious, created a stumbleupoon, twitter, submitted to various directories, added to many of the sites I use. Honestly, dang it, it takes so much time. What happens is, I get good traffic the day I post a link somewhere in a forum. And then the next day it dies down. I now have around 30-50 users daily. If I post a link in some forum I get around 200-300 users and around 800 views. But then next day it drops again. It is quite a small number. I know it probably is because of the category the site falls into. But what are the other methods you try to keep getting reliable constant and consistent traffic? Hey also, I'm expecting a PR2 or PR3 by the next update... in June or July... possible? With links it should be possible, around 20 backlinks in google and around 400 external links in webmasters. Around 300 links in yahoo. just wondering if http:www.explainstuff.com would get that kind of approval from Google! Thanks, jinlgepoint
well I think my post title and the post itself should be more attractive ! So few impressions and 0 answers.
Best bet would be social traffic, search engine traffic has a tendency of leaving fast to another link as my experience. Build up some friends on twitter and facebook whatever websites.
create more backlinks and your site will appear on the first page of the google search and more visitors will visit your site Its free organic traffic
my site now appears third on the first page. listing is ok. I'm just wondering about getting NEW traffic. Social bookmarking doesn't help....need to make friends ..... a gazillion of them.
Regarding question number 1. Your content keywords and the quality of the page determine how much you're payed per click. Your cost per click is also affected by how many adsense units you have on your site. Adsense units placed higher on the page garner higher bids than those placed in low attention areas of your site. This will all change as soon as google launches it's new adsense formula.
What happens is, I get good traffic the day I post a link somewhere in a forum. And then the next day it dies down. The reason for the above statement is because you are spamming these forums with your link
