I'm curious what average Muslim thinks of the situation in Sudan. I'll give you the basics of the sitution (if you don't already know).

What is your moral perspective on this? This question is for any Muslim....

Please no assertions of what 'they' think...I want to hear this directly from any Muslim here.

United States Commission on International Religious Freedom Report:

    http://www.uscirf.gov/countries/publications/currentreport/2005annualRpt.pdf

The government of Sudan commits egregious and systematic violations of freedom of religion or belief in the Northern part of the country, in the Western region of Darfur, and in other areas under its control, particularly against Christians, Muslims who do not follow the government’s extreme interpretation of Islam, and followers of traditional African religions.

*'Forced converstion to Islam is government policy'

*'Churches are often closed, destroyed, or not allowed to be built.'

*'Preaching in the open is prohibited and could come with jailing or beating.'

*'Christian home groups are consider a disturbance and Bible study leaders are put in jail.'

In the past, the Commission has identified Sudan as the world’s most violent abuser of the right to freedom of religion and belief and has drawn attention to the Sudanese government’s genocidal atrocities against civilian populations. As a result of the government’s policies of Islamization and Arabization, two million people, mostly non-Muslims in southern and central Sudan, died in the now-concluded North-South civil war.

However, the Commission continues to be seriously concerned over severe human rights violations being committed by the Sudanese government in other regions of the country, including against both non-Muslims and Muslims who dissent from the government’s interpretation of Islam, as well as in the Western region of Darfur, where the State Department has determined that acts of genocide have taken place and may continue to be occurring.
