Around these marketing sites, I see people saying my site is a PR3 or my site is a PR7. What does that mean? Is it a measure of how much traffic a site gets?
Stands for: Page Rank Google give sites a ranking of their value between 0-10 with 10 being the highest.
Thanks for the reply. After i posted that, I thought about it for a second and realized... Page rank, duh. I didn;t realize it was done by google though. Thanks again
Page Rank (PR) is a judgment on how important you site, it is created by google. The higher PR mean more important. It is not related to traffic You can get more details from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Page_rank
I remember this question has already been discussed before if you search this question in the forum.Well,PR value is shortened for PageRank from Google co-founder LarryPage. It is a part of Google ranking algorithms , and a method for Google to mark the level / importance of web pages. It is the universal criterion to measure a site is good or bad. PR level is from 1 to 10 and the full is 10. The higher the PR value is, the more popular web page is, that is, more important. For example: a website with PR value of 1 indicates that the site does not have the popularity, and the PR value of 7-10 indicates that the site is very popular (or extremely important). General PR value of 4 can be regarded as a good website. Google says their own websites has the PR value of 10.Now you can understand what PR# means. __________________
