What does it take to run a PTC site?

I'm not talking about the technology, scripts, etc. That's something else. I want to know what it takes in terms of administration. It it easy enough to pull it out on solo mode? Or is it my best bet to join someone to work with?

You'll need advertisers to buy the paid clicks. Otherwise it is probably able to be administrated by 1 person (at least until it grows profitable enough to hire more people). But finding enough advertisers may be hard, especially for one person who has to worry about other issues.

I was thinking a sales tactic might be sell advertising super cheap for the first few, and keep the website "unprofitable" for some time... What do you say?

Oh, and by "What does it take" I mean if does it take too much time, is it better to partner with someone, are there many support issues, etc.

Upon making the site "unprofitable" by having low ad prices then you are portraying yourself as a scam site before you even begin, as your site will instantly be seen as "unsustainable"

Its better to load up the site with lots of ads to affiliate links etc and rely on big promoters sending traffic to your site in the form of referrals for them and future referrals and membership purchasers for you.

So basically I just load the "links" with affiliate links, and make an "investment" paying people before I get advertisers... Is that right?

Lets be frank here, when there are now hundreds or PTC sites (not like when it only used to be adbux and bux.to), most which have tens of thousands of members (some with hundreds of thousands to millions), why would anyone want to advertise on your new site?

99% of ads on PTC sites are self sponsored, once in a blue moon will you get a real advertiser.

You make money by running a PTC site by selling referrals and premium memberships.

So basically I just fill it up with my own affiliate links... it's not a bad business model...

That IS generaly what most sites do.

Once your site is up and running, let me know, I'll promote it a bit to gain some referrals too.

Good managment skills! Remember everyone just wants to earn themselves money, not you! So it's easy for things to run away and you go bust.

Don't expect to make it big unless you've a few thousand set aside for the first payments due.

He's right in what he has been saying because depending on where your money is comming from you will need to pay your members before you get paid. So what we are trying to say is that it's not something you could start with a script, domain and some web hosting.

Once people start seeing payment proofs, it wil encourage them to buy referrals etc, so even if he makes 20 payments at $10 each, he is bound to make a few sales as a result of earning trust of purchasers.

Depending on your luck, your strategy and your reputation within the industry, simply a domain, hosting and script CAN be enough to start.

By the way a tip for you: Do NOT use shared hosting, which is a common mistake made by many. You will require a dedicated server to run a PTC site.

That's a first I didn't know that, I don't run any "PTC" website but would like to know the reason why?

Reason being it is quite a drain on shared hosting resources.

PTC sites are all PHP & MySQL driven, and if you have 1000 queries being carried out at once it lags your site and is flagged for using too many resources.

One other vital point is PayPal does not accept PTC sites anymore.

    AlertPay is the alternative.
