I would NEVER want to be a moderator here. And, reacting like that isn't exactly good for your mod application. Don't you know that people to ASK to be a mod are almost always rejected.
Akchully... I gots rejected for mod becose they say you have to be gud at sphelling... bah! Seriously.. I'd nevah wanna be a mod here... too much work
Vibi goat to setart too rrigaiht bettarr. Vibi no bigg mod can bi. Seriously, why in the world one wants to be a mod, besides kicking Bans's and that huge pay check of the falubastic amount of... $Zero!!!!
Frankly I myself never expected to be a mod here, was a mod at another forum slightly smaller than DP but still sizable, retired from modding there. Being a mod isn't easy. Being a member there are a lot of things you can voice out easily but being a mod you will need to think twice. But I guess if you are in a community and active in the community, you tend to want to participate more than as a member and to contribute what you can.
I think the current mods are the best way to figure out how to get chosen. You need to be respectable, intelligent, helpful and have the ability to bite your tongue if something you say could cause issues later down the line.
You people are all wrong, all you need is a resume packed with years and years of babysitting experience.
So where did I say in this post, or even the thread title that I wanted to be a mod here ? I simply asked what it took, so us members could appreciate the amount of work that mods have to do on a regular basis. And trying to put others down isn't particularly good for your image either True. Mods need to have good spelling, because they represent authority. But it would be cool to see a mod who went around closing threads in style =) (e.g thread pwned) @Wisdomtool If you ever reply to this, what did you feel when they told you that you were now a mod on DP?
As Mike said, Itrader has nothing to do with selection. In fact people who do not deal much in the B/S/T are preferred IMO.
During the previous thread on the announcement of wisdomtool and tiktok as mod, I remember reading that both actually bid to become one. Not sure how much the money is involved and where actually does the bidding took place. Only both of them can confirm.
I'll let who ever makes decisions here at DP sleep with my wife if I can become a mod...jokes of course. I think I agree with this babysitting approach... Cheers,
Can anyone tell me how much is the salary for a mod. And I don't understand around how much money the owner gets, there is just 1 adsense there at the top and few between the posts where no one is going to notice.
