What does it mean when your site is listed in the "Omitted" search section?

Hello everyone. I've put together a website, fairly new, but come to find out the domain had existed about a year or two ago.

Well, I've recreated the website to my liking, and it got indexed quickly within the search engines, however I've noticed that only for this specific website and only specific for Google, it shows up in the "repeat the search with the omitted results included", which if clicked does display. The content on this website is 100% original as well, which I know omitted results usually reflect duplicate data.

The site displays fine in Yahoo however. Can anyone give me some insight as to what this is telling me? I haven't promoted the site before, only submitted to the search engines recently. My other websites have not had this problem, only this one specifically.

With proper promotion and SEO tactics, is there a chance I can get this displayed as a regular website within the Google search engine?

    Thank you.

For what keyword are you getting this issue?
Would you mind providing the keyword and URL so we could check it out?

So sorry for that lack of information. That would be important.

What I'm looking for is an accurate search of the site itself. "websitename".

As for the site name, with due respect I'd rather not mention it here at this time. However, what I can offer is that the site does show properly and as available, via site:sitename

Now, with that all said, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but shouldn't looking for an accurate keyword search using the sites name produce a search result? I'm sorry if that seems a little ignorant, but it seems to me that it should produce a search result even without a specified keyword called out as a tag for the site. All my other sites produce a result, yet this one just doesn't want to do so.

I hope that helps a little more.

I would say it just means it is showing up in the supplemental results.. either because it is a brand new site or because the content is duplicated and not cited as the original source.

This is the issue i did face before. Lately i came to know that Google will show the result that because of duplicate content. Will you share your site?

Thank you for all your replies folks. I've fixed the results.

I implemented some advanced SEO tactics yesterday evening, and a number of my pages were pulled from the omitted section into the open search overnight. Now just to fine tune it to crawl up the rankings, and watch for the remaining pages to hopefully appear.

    Thanks again everyone.
