What does it mean when "Google Inc" visits your website?

I have the free version of StatCounter enabled on my site so I can see in detail who is coming and where my visitors are coming from. Today I have noticed that "74.125.16.35 (Google Inc)" visited my site at 08:55:22 by searching from searching on google site:www.mysite.com.
Then later on " ff-in-f67.google.com (Google Inc)" visited my site at 09:29:14.

Are these bots are real employees? Is this just StatCounter's way of saying that a google robot came to my site? Could this be a good thing or is Google "on to me?"

    Ideas would be appreciated.
