What does it mean when a domain is on hold?

    Registration Date....: 2003-12-11 GMT.
    Domain Expiration Date......: 2004-12-11 GMT.
    Domain Last Updated Date....: 2004-12-12 16:01:15 GMT.

    What does this means its on hold? it expired 2004-12-11, how long can it be on hold before i can register it?

    It means it has not been paid for. How long it's on hold is dependent on the registrar. It will go to a "Redemption Period" status first for nearly a month. Once it's into Redemption Period, you can predict the exact day it will be released.
