What does it mean to ping your site?

    Can anyone guide me What does it mean to Ping your site?
    I am new in SEO so don't have any idea about it.

    It means that u notify the search engines and other bots ( article,sites indexers ) that your website has changed. Translated, it means that u say to all bots on the web " Hey, come back to register the changes on my websites " , or "Hey , my website is still here ", but it is done only for the bots.
