what does it mean to have a pr4?

i know its page rank 4, but what does that really mean? whats the difference between a pr4 and a pr 2?

 

pr4 have more back link and more traffic compare to pr2. page rank depend on back link and traffic.

 

so what/who determines a pr?

 

Pr is determined by several things:
1.the no. of links pointing towards the inner pages ie the keywords.
2.relevance of your keyword & the search results
3.how often does you update your content to the site.

so being on pr4 means you have put some efforts though if your relax on creating more links your pr will lower

 

hmm ok that makes sense..so who/what determines what sites are which prs? like how do i know what pr my sites are? alexa?

 

It's Google's Algorithm to determine the PR. It is for the individual webpage, but PR of individual page is depend on other pages' PR. The PR is divided among the all pages linked internally and it also depends on their present PR.

Yes, you can see the pagerank at Google toolbar. It's symbol is of Green color, when you will mouse over it you can find the details in text too.

 

pr 4 means you got more backlink and traffic in comparison to page rank 2 websites.
