What does it mean that .in domains are country specific?

    What does it mean that .in domains are country specific? Will they not be shown in google.co.uk etc?

    it is more difficult to rank a country specific domain outside of that country.

    If you target any country the buy specific country domain if your product is worldwide then buy .com domain for worldwide :)

    It is EXTREMELY more difficult to rank a country specific domain on other Google datacentres like Google.com and Google.co.uk.. however, it is still do-able.
    It just takes more time.. What you can also do is set that your domain is international within Google Webmaster tools - then it will be picked up by all data centers.

    Google sees a country specific domain as more important in that countries local Google search engine - in your instance the Indian version of Google
