What does "Hide as Spam" really do?

    I've been going through some of my daughter's "likes" and in the comments there is a ton of spam. I hit "hide as spam" but, really, apart from hiding it from me (pointless, I've already seen it) what does the hide as spam option do... is there a point where the user will come up for facebook moderation? or some other penalty?

    Basically it'll delete it. It treats like a spam.
