I've been working really hard at getting my site a decent PR on the next google run but as I'm new to all this I was wondering what having a higher PR will actually do for my site?

    Whats the benefits guys?

    Cheers

Advertisers would consider buying ad spaces on your site if you have a high PR. You will also get a higher search engine ranking. :)

The question is too general... Maybe you should consider gooling or searching DP to learn a bit more about PR. What is the most important is that you gain some weight in the web community, especially in your niche. Webmasters become eager to exchange links with you and start taking your site seriously. Networking within your niche is a very important factor. It is highly unprobable that ypou will be able to achieve some success by yourself...

It's a question I ask myself - a few weeks ago, my blog, started at the beginning of the year suddenly started showing PR3 and I thought, so what!?

But apart from the idea of selling links (hotly debated) there does seem to be SOME correlation between your search engine placings and PR too - since about the time of the PR change, the number of hits from Google searches has gone up by 300-400%...

You can also generate passive income by selling text links (high PR) through Text-Links-Ads :)
