Although that's nice, I don't really see a reason to pay $25/mo or $125/yr to be able to spend my money on your users service... That's almost as bad as being forced to pay for Xbox Live Gold just to watch Netflix.

    No offense.

You don't have to... you can buy stuff from anyone listing stuff in Buy/Sell/Trade without being established/premium.

But if you look at my history, I do contests for logos and stuff... Was gonna start ramping up more... But I can't because I have to spend my time gathering "likes" legitimately or pay more a month in a premium membership than I do for the content I come here for... Now if it was a one time fee of like $25 no biggy... But I'm not paying to be able to pay for something.

Should have grandfathered people in instead of alienating them.

Yeah, if that's the only reason you would need/want premium membership and the cost is greater than the benefit for you (and for whatever reason you are unable to contribute something useful to the site to get in for free), it definitely would not make sense to get it.

Well, that's life. Just try to imagine that those rules were here since the start, would you have used DP? If not then goodbye, if yes then make a little effort out of your busy schedule.

The only people that have been "alienated" are the ones that don't have the ability to contribute something meaningful or useful, this forum doesn't just exist so you and others like can come here and make easy money without making any sort of contribution, i don't understand why so many people can't understand that...this forum isn't just a free ride and it really isn't hard to get 3 likes...

lol, you old timer you... :D your right in some sense it's going to take some time to get used to. I'm still a fan of the old theme, for me is was cleaner for the fact it had less involved details and options on each page thus it was cleaner for me to navigate though, but each to their own I guess.

I like the new Digital Point look but I am sad because I had somehow become accustomed to those dark green contrasts. Also, looking at the iTrader thing, I think they should have merged the old count with the new one.

Thats a tough one bigwriter, at least they kept the old iTrader rating in the profile which is better than nothing.

It has been a great move by DP admins to reduce the spam. Also it would have been more and more satisfiable to people like me who can afford to pay some where around 10$ to contribute to this site and become established. I have been a great fan of Dp and I would like to contribute in any way I can.

Lol, less time in "here" and more time out "there" contributing something, might result in the likes you guys need to go about your business. :)

I'm sorry, but I am not using this forum as a "free ride" and I contribute by paying users of this board for their services. I use this board as a resource to reach a bunch of designers, and pay them for things I want... If that's not being a contributor, then fine... I'll take my business somewhere else... It just sucks that people who spend their money here are basically told "Too bad".

Looks like 99designs.com is where I'll be going from now on.

That does not contribute anything to this forum, you may contribute something to certain users but what benefit is that to the forum??
Good, 1 less whinger here is always a good thing

You can look for a seller who offers the service you need. You can still buy things without creating a thread over in that section.
