I am a newbie in the domain name business , I need a domain name for my weight loss business I have been searching for some expired domains for the past few days but came accross some with Status:

    Name Server: NS1.PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM
    Name Server: NS2.PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM
    Status: pendingDelete
    Updated Date: 22-may-2008
    Creation Date: 16-mar-1999
    Expiration Date: 16-mar-2008

what does this means while does it have mar 16 as expiration date while update date is 22 may ? what are my chances of getting this domain

    ???

The Updated Date is the latest date in which there are some changes made to the domain name or its details. It could include someone logging in to change some personal particulars, to updating the dns records, to extending the lease of the domain name for another year or anything.

In this case, it basically just reflects the change of the status of the deletion of the domain name. Since the expiry date did not change, it would be easy to assume that the former owners did not do anything to redeem the domain name.

You may have a chance of getting the domain name if you monitor it constantly. However if there are people who already are ahead of the queue for it then you might not get it.

Only when the domain name is no longer in existence that you can register it.

Well, I would think that those providing the service needs to earn an income because you know that only one person would ever get the domain name.

In GoDaddy's case, they will charge you and if you don't get the domain name, you can backorder something else until you get the domain name you want.
