What does Analytics mean when your own site is a "referral" to it's self?

    What does it mean when Analytics lists your own website as a referal to it's self.

    For example, if my site is ExampleSite.com what does it mean when Analytics says "ExampleSite.com/referral" under Traffic Sources > Sources > All traffic

    Is this an error or is this common? If so, how does my site refer to it's self?
