I was looking for a script and it took me to a warez site that said the scripts are all nulled. I was wondering what this means?
It's a pirated script. 'nullified' usually means that any security measures the software developers put into it have been removed. For example, call home requests, license codes etc. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_Nulled_script
Also could cause you problems with keeping a hosting account if it was to be found that you were using a nulled script, not by the hosting provider but if someone discoverd it and reported you to the developer/company who made the script.
Cracked. The part of the code that review that its a legit copy, was nulled (not working). Be carefull, since its not the same to download a cacked software on your PC thats having a visible copy (anyone can browse to your site) pf a pirated version of a script. Both are bad, but the desktop application is used in privated, and the scripts is visible to anyone.
May be your license for that script was expired. Nulled script means it is not properly to use it stolen from any where or you get the script from others but that script have single domain license only etc.
not viruses but they usually are full of intentional security problems and backdoors. Nothing on this world is free....there is always a cost
nulled doesn't always mean virus, nulled basically means that the licensing has been removed from the script and that it will work without having to verify the license. needless to say it is a pirated version and you will not get support and updates.
A nulled script is a piece of software that has been modified to no longer require a license. "Nulled" and "cracked" mean the same thing. Nulled scripts usually contain viruses and back doors into your site. This leaves you vulnerable to hacking.
Nulled means a cracked version of the script which is available for free. Actually when you search for nulled scripts, you will certainly come up with these things: 1. download with virus and scams. 2. Scam link with surveys that leads to nothing important.
Nulled = Stolen NEVER user a nulled script, they are usually full of viruses and will corrupt your entire server. It's like pouring a cup of bleach into a gallon of drinking water.
Ok, don't know what's worse, the pointless bump of a 8 month old thread that had the same answer already posted multiple times.... or a "premium" member with thousands of posts replying to that bump with the same pointless copypasta answer. Aherpaderp... derp derp eee derpa... Aherpaderp.. Derp derpity derp... Aherpaderp... Derp Derp ee derpa, a herpa, a herpa, a herpadeedaherpderpderpityderp. "What is a mahna mahna anyways?"
Actually, I offered a new piece of information - it wasn't the same "copy and paste" answer, what would I benefit from doing that? I would say that 90% of the users here are hosting multiple websites on a single Cpanel. Not everyone knows that using a nulled script can infect ALL of the sites on that Cpanel, not just the one that was corrupted to begin with.
They will only corrupt the entire server if there is NO safe-guards in place for cross-contamination. Any securely set up server will just shrug if a nulled script should contain anything "dangerous" - because it will be limited to the web-folder account, with no access to anything beyond PHP and Apache running as a separate server for the actual user. Unless, of course, the server-setup is completely botched.
