I am curious to know what perks go along with a site when it is listed in DMOZ?

Does it add quality to the site?

    Does it draw more interest?

It gives you a backlink and gets you in the google directory (which is just a DMOZ dump) - although google has stated it is treated no differently than another link for PR. With a dozen DMOZ listed sites, I do believe it helps with SERPS a little - although I think the benefit is greatly over-estimated. You couldn't tell one of my DMOZ listed sites from a non-listed site by looking at SERPS.

Google has discounted or ignores all the DMOZ clones now and the amount of traffic received - even from a top level listing - is very, very small (and I think much of that traffic is webmasters looking for link exchanges).

DMOZ is worth the time to submit to - but don't worry too much if your site isn't accepted as the vast majority of sites are rejected - and it can take days to several years before an editor even looks at your submission. Make sure you take the time to submit to the right category - this is critical, and don't submit the same site more than once.
