Nothing outside can make us permanently happy. We all are happy souls but we always seek happiness outside. However, its funny that we can always remain happy if we feel so. Just learned about this thing from someone and trying to implement it.
Well having passive income that is enough to cover my daily expenses and provide me a few luxuries along the way certainly will make me happy.

Well I guess the best answer is a lack of sadness I'd be happy if I found that one special person, and didn't have to worry about money resources (not saying rich, but well enough off that it's not a worry).

Nobody is happy all of the time, but some people are definitely more fulfilled than others. Studies on what makes people happy reveal that it doesn't have much to do with material goods or high achievement, it seems to whittle down to your outlook on life, and the quality of your relationships with the people around you.
Money is always a good thing to have, but I would say that to be truly happy I only really need my friends, my family, and a good book, oh and a computer
