Do search engines penalize similar websites running on the same C Class IP. I mean will search engines penalize my websites if for example i am running to humor based websites which are not linking each other and have different content but are on the same webserver. with the same ip.
I would think that if you content is different it shouldn't matter...but not real sure, never seen that situation myself before.
Hmm thats an interesting point. I doubt it will be penalized but there will be no benefits besides traffic either.
It shouldn't be penalized just because they don't share the same topic and are located in the same C Class IP.
If the content is different, and you are not forming any mini network for linking, I don’t think G will penalize you even if your sites are hosted on same c class ip.
I dont think Google will penalize in this matter, if both the website has unique content and Meta Tags (i mean totaly different website) then running on the same C Class IP doesnt matter.
i m agree with other guys, Search engines will not panelized your sites.i have my 4 domains hosted on same server but no probs till now. go ahead,it wont panelized u.
Haven't known of them to penalize for that. Just don't go overboard with the linking between the sites.
We have over 1000 domains on our box, all part of the Justgoodcars.com group, each site has its own unique niche vehicle information (e.g www.just911cars.com) but google still panelizes my sites for linking to one another. The only sites that link together are the ones from the same vehicle manufacturer. We have a legitimate reason for doing what we are doing. Whats our best solution as lots of information comes from one database under the Justgoodcars.com domain and breaking the sites up will cause a big headache technically? Do I need to put them all on seperate C Class IP’s and do I need to change the whois record for each domain just to satisfy google? If I do make these changes will google see these changes and rectify the issue or is there some kind of log which google will always refer too and no matter what changes I make to these domains google will always remember they were from the same owner? I tried to blog Matt Cutts about this but no reply.
Well you get penalized for "same content" but same niche sites with difrent content will not be a problem
I would like the benefits of all my porsche sites linking to each other? Has anyone succesfully moved a website to a different Class C IP and seen a positive impact?
