Hello all, Another review request here. Hopefully some of you get some inspiration/ideas from the designs. As per my previous thread, this is my first attempt at web design and I'm a bit of a newbie to photoshop, although I'm picking it up fairly quickly. This time I've designed a PLACE BID overlay. The idea is that a user clicks 'Place bid' and this pops up. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to give me some feedback. Constructive criticism is preferred!
Hi, I think this looks clean and professional. I'm interested into knowing what type of site this is.
I'd go for a bigger size for "Place Bid". It needs to stand out a bit. As for other stuff, I don't see anything that needs to be changed. It looks very good.
The heading line background and the price background(some kind of green) looks too bright. You should notice, that these two elements stands out from the whole window. If the window is smaller than we can see here, it shouldn't be a problem Also they don't have rounded corners like "Place Bid" button and "Enter your bid here" input have. You could try rounding them up and adding a black line around. To summarize - this window looks good and clean, but the top of the window could be improved.
Thanks for the feedback. I personally love that tone of green, it's a beautiful colour (in my opinion) and fits well with the brand, so I'm sticking with that. You're right, they do stand out from the window - that's the idea though, Price should stand out straight away, and the user's eye should be directed to the header also, so that they are aware of the overlay. This is a slightly larger version of the overlay, it would be smaller in real life . The contrast between the square, sharp edged outline and buttons works well to differentiate, I believe. I'll fiddle around with sizes though. Thanks for the feedback! David, it's a bit of a secret right now, I'm working on something completely new though.
Yeah, differentiate the Price and the Place bid button. The button is good, but the price could be formatted differently, hope that helps!
Yeah, it's a hidden bid. I'm going to add 'X bidders' though, so that the user knows how many other users are bidding. I've changed the contrast for the button up a bit too now, so it stands out more and doesn't clash with the header so much. Will upload soon.
Very neat and nice! Maybe you can play more with the "Place Bid" button? For some reason, I think it doesn't go well with the rest of the design elements as a whole, or maybe not.
Yeah, I tried to make it stand out, might use the other button though, as you suggested in the other thread.
Nice design, and as the others already said make Place bid stand out more, diggerent color (yellow). Is that a site where people bid on boxes without knowing what`s behind them ?
I think the green is too bright. I would change it to a facebook blue. It'll be more readable and people would be familiar with the design.
I'd like to have something a bit more original and unique though, rather than standard and familiar - for this sort of project, I think the green works well!
Maybe change up the title to "Place a Bid" so it's not exactly the same as the button. Looks good, i like the green.
