http://mudac.com I just made the website. I designed it myself, twice actually. This is actually a lot different than what it was gonna look like but my comp crashed right after I completed the site and I didn't have any backups. Anyways, so what do you think?
I do think there's a lot of potential here for a good site. I'd like to know more about your angle (from the perspective of the surfer, that's what I look for first in a site, particularly new-related). You didn't clutter it, so that's good but the links look awfully similar to some titles for entries that don't have a hyperlink embedded into them. Maybe make it easier to tell what to click and what to read? Hope that helps
If this is your first design it's ok and better than some rubbish people try to charge for. But it's only good as a starting point if I'm brutal. Try learning photoshop, if you have it, plenty of tutorials online to teach how to generate interesting graphics easily. Generate a nice logo, put the site name clearly alongside it, sling a slogan in to the header too but make sure the site name is very visible, obvious, easy to read... this way, people are more likely to remember.
If you cannot make bigger changes, make those main option buttons a little smaller. They will look more profesional that way, really.
