Hi Everyone i have just release my first website after teaching myself web development. My website aims to proving links for the best websites regarding web development to help those who are learning. As well as learning sources it also has lots of useful tools for any web developer to use. Its definitely not finished but the general idea is there and was wanting some feedback from others. I believe i have learnt an awful lot but still want to learn more so any feedback would be great. www.web-developmenthub.com Thanks.
Hi there Furniss11, and a warm welcome to these forums. Your page does not validate... https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http://www.web-developmenthub.com/ With "JavaScript" and or "CSS" disabled the page does not work very well at all. I would suggest that you check out this article... http://www.cutcodedown.com/article/whats_wrong_with_YOUR_website_index ...and others on that site. They will most certainly help to get you going in the right direction, coding wise. coothead
Hi Thanks for the feedback and i will take the validation on board. Sorry if this is a silly question but who views websites without Javascript and CSS disabled? and what website would look good without CSS enabled? Thanks
Good first site bud! Many great wishes to you. Don't worry about the small percentage of people that have this disabled. People that have those things disabled are not the ones you are targeting. good luck to you.
It's not bad for your first website! Learning to make the CSS responsive isn't hard and that is what will make it fit nicely on all screen sizes. Maybe it's just me but when I link to anything I don't like opening a new tab, I like hitting the back button. And if it is something I would like a new tab for I do the right click thing on my mouse to do that haha
I have just come across this! Neat website i must say, i especially find the source switcher pretty cool on this page. http://www.web-developmenthub.com/sources Nice work.
