But new tlds are being introduced all the time. This means that the pool of domain names is expanding, not shrinking. So although a lot of short names are being snapped up, the price won't necessarily rise. I've seen a lot of ugly 3-character domains available, but the trouble with this one is it doesn't mean an awful lot, and it's not easily memorable. It's hard to imagine what kind of site you would develop for a domain like that.
