Hello everyone. I am conducting an academic research on the use of web based IDE. It will be of great help if you can give your suggestions. I have setup a survey regarding this. Please spare few minutes to answer them. Feel free to pass this survey to your friends. Use this link to take the survey: http://www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/tomcat/mk367/survey.html Thank you for your time.
And you came to DP to do this?!!! You MUST be joking. Is this April Fool's Day? I'm sure it is. Or are you such a poor student that you think this place is a bastion of real developers?
Some researches dosen't have to be carried out in fixed environment. I feel that a mix of developers is necessary to understand the overall picture. Ideas can be anywhere. Even a negative comment can help to get a different dimension to the problem. I hope I have justified my approach.
You may as well have posted this on Mrs. Kinder's third grade class site and have been just as correct. You're throwing darts, not doing research.
No. I'm the teacher. Pulling my hair out. I come here only for the laughs. Why aren't you posting this at more serious sites? Or are you? Have you gone through these forums and seen the type of threads they have here?
I have posted this message in many forums. I am not relying on just one source. I didn't use DP for a while so I am not sure of its current state. Atleast I got person to respond. If you can help me, please pass the message to your friends.
Current state? As one of my friends said, this place is a cesspool. He can't understand why I come here. I can't understand why I come here.
Took your survey. Can't understand why anyone would want to limit himself to only be able to work when he has web access.
I already began developing a web-based IDE a few years ago, but microsoft has a lot of the ideas patented so legal issues would arise eventually. Also, even if one were to be made, developers prefer a local environment (see what rukbat said too). In the end, it isn't a very good idea compared to what developers currently use.
